Carved wooden mask of rounded, almost circular form with a broad domed forehead and finely slit eyes set within a light-toned facial field. The elongated nose and small, closed mouth create a calm and introspective expression typical of masks associated with the Bwami society.

The contrast between the dark brown patinated surface and the lighter face area enhances the sculptural clarity. The surface shows age, wear and a soft, handled patina consistent with traditional use.
