Upper Guinea Coast

Height: 26 cm (without beard)

Wooden mask in Dan style from the Upper Guinea Coast region (Liberia / Côte d’Ivoire). The oval face with almond-shaped eyes and slightly open mouth is complemented by a domed coiffure with raised band and metal studs. The leather chin beard, fixed with small tacks, is preserved.

Dark, glossy patina with visible age and wear. Likely 20th century.
